How to Change Colors in a Design Using a DTF Gang Sheet Builder

When creating custom apparel, sometimes the only thing standing between a good design and a perfect one is the color. Maybe you need to match a brand color, adjust a design for a different shirt color, or simply want to experiment with a new look.

The good news is you don’t need expensive design software to make simple color changes.

Inside the Iron Oaks DTF Gang Sheet Builder, you can quickly change colors in your design without downloading your artwork or editing it in another program.

This simple feature makes it easier to adjust artwork and get your DTF transfers ready for printing faster.

Step 1: Upload Your Artwork to the Gang Sheet Builder

Start by uploading your design and placing it on the artboard inside the Iron Oaks Gang Sheet Builder.

Once your artwork is added to the artboard, you’ll be able to edit and adjust the design directly within the platform.

Step 2: Open the Image Editor

Click on your design and select Edit Image.

From there, navigate to the Colors section where you can modify the colors used in your design.

This tool allows you to quickly replace one color with another across the entire design.

Step 3: Replace the Color in Your Design

Select the color you want to change and click Replace Color.

You’ll then be able to choose a new color using several different methods.

Enter a HEX Color Code

If you already know the exact color you want, you can paste in the HEX code directly.

HEX codes are commonly used in design and branding, and they ensure the color you choose is exact.

Use the Built-In Color Picker

If you don’t have a HEX code, you can simply use the color wheel to choose a new color visually.

This makes it easy to test different color combinations quickly.

Convert an RGB Color

If you have an RGB color code, you can convert it to HEX using a free RGB-to-HEX converter online and paste it into the builder.

Many designers simply search Google for a color they want and copy the HEX code.

Step 4: Apply the Color Change

Once you’ve selected the new color, click Apply.

The Gang Sheet Builder will automatically replace the selected color throughout your design.

For example, if you replace black with teal, every black element in the artwork will update to teal instantly.

Step 5: Change Multiple Colors

Need to update more than one color in your design?

No problem.

Simply click Add Another Color, choose the next color you want to replace, and repeat the process.

Once you're happy with the design, click Apply again to finalize your changes.

Does Changing Colors Take Time?

Depending on the size and complexity of your artwork, the system may take a few seconds to process the change.

If you have access to professional design tools like Photoshop or Illustrator, those programs can sometimes process color changes faster.

However, if you don’t have design software, this feature provides a quick and convenient way to adjust colors directly inside the gang sheet builder without leaving the platform.

Why This Feature Saves You Time

Before tools like this were available, changing colors meant:

• Downloading the design
• Editing it in another program
• Saving the file again
• Uploading it back into the system

Now you can make those changes in just a few clicks without interrupting your workflow.
